High speed, high resolution, non-contact RG2 linear encoder

The award winning RG2 encoder system is an incremental non-contact optical encoder which provides high resolution positional feedback for a wide range of high precision motion control systems.

The system comprises a 20µm pitch gold plated flexible scale which is scanned by an optical readerhead chosen according to the resolution and output required. The standard range of readerheads can provide resolutions down to 0.1µm.

The RG2's unique "cut to suit" scale on a reel flexibility makes it suitable for use on a huge variety of systems from microscopes to telescopes, printing machines to laser cutting machines. In fact wherever there is motion and the need for precise control, the RG2 encoder system can be relied upon to keep your systems accurately positioned. Axes lengths from 10mm to 50 meters are all readily accommodated by the RG2 system and the non contact design allows speeds in excess of 5 meters per second.
